Ahead of the 2022 Guinness Six Nations Championship, Bremont unveils the new Limited Edition S300 RFU. Limited to only 150 pieces, this new watch follows the successful release of the Rugby Football Union 150, a Bremont timepiece commemorating the 150th anniversary of the RFU in 2021.

    Description

The S300 RFU joins a series of Limited Edition mechanical chronometers for both fans and players, celebrating the spirit and tenacity of the England Rugby team. As Official Timing Partner to both England Rugby and Twickenham Stadium, the new timepiece, and indeed the partnership, not only celebrates what it means to be ‘Made in England’ but equally the shared values of durability, precision, and technical ability. The S300 RFU comes in a 40mm iteration and its distinct red, white and blue colour palette has been inspired by the England team kit. The clean white dial features applied indexes, a date window, and a beautifully contrasting sweeping red seconds hand which also nods to the Cross of St. George. Turning the watch over reveals its closed case back stamped with ‘England Rugby – Twickenham’ around the iconic England rose.

Bremont Ambassador and England Rugby player Tom Curry comments, “Bremont's designs, craftsmanship and brand ethos are perfectly aligned with what England Rugby stands for, two institutions that are made in England and both ‘Tested Beyond Endurance’.”

    REINVIGORATING THE BRITISH WATCH INDUSTRY

It is not completely unexpected to find that the world sets its time by Greenwich and not by Geneva. Whilst Geneva and Switzerland may be producing the vast majority of luxury wristwatches today, this certainly wasn’t always the case. In 1800 half of the world's watches, around 200,000 pieces a year, were produced on British shores by British watchmakers, which is an incredible statistic. Another wonderful statistic is that probably over 60-70% of the innovation in a modern day mechanical watch has come from Britain, including every major escapement design. Bremont's mission has always been to play a part in bringing back watchmaking to British shores.
